Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Accurate localization of sound sources is indispensable for high-quality sound capture. The paper propose a new method of the sound localization using a distributed microphone system that is placed under the ceiling of a room. The sound source is localized based on correlation of two channel signals that are delayed with the time delay of arrival for a hypothetical sound source. The correlation coefficients for many microphone pairs are calculated by the cross-power spectrum phase analysis (CSP) method. The proposed method searches the position that maximizes the correlation coefficient accumulated over the microphone pairs. Experiment results show that the proposed method gives a high accuracy of the sound localization in a real environment. The possibility of real time processing is also studied.
