| Abstract(in English) | A new Transflective IPS-LCDs (In-Plane Switching Liquid Crystal Displays) having in-cell retarder on its refrective display portion have been developed. The reflective display portion is designed to work as wide-band quarter wave plate. The transflective IPS-LCDs show almost the same viewing angle performances and contrast ratio as transmissive IPS-LCDs, because its transmissive display portions have the same structure as transmissive IPS-LCDs. |
