Improvement of Field Emission Characteristics on GNF-FED using Granulized Catalyst Thin Film

Abstract(in English) Dependence of the field enhance factor β of GNF on the distance between cold cathode and anode was simulated. It was found that the diameter of GNF is more important than the height of it to enhance the electric field under the dimensional condition of the conventional filed emitter in GNF-FED. In order to grow finer GNF, new granulized catalyst thin film, which was deposited with metal catalyst containing with silicon dioxide, was examined. As a result, the metal catalyst particle became smaller as the mixture ratio of silicon dioxide became higher. GNF which was fine and had uniform diameter was grown. Therefore, it is expected that this GNF will improve field emission characteristics and emission uniformity of GNF-FED.
