Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new configuration of the inverted-F antenna (IFA) array for user terminals in "system-to-system SDM (Space Division Multiplexing)." The antenna array consists of two active IFA elements and two passive IFA elements loading variable reactors, thereby realizing a low-profile antenna array within a small space. It is expected that the antenna possesses a high ability to form a beam and/or null at any direction in the horizontal plane, since it behaves as both a Yagi-Uda antenna and a phased array antenna. Also, we introduce here an equivalent weight for the antenna, of which the vector is composed of not only port currents at the feed circuits and variable reactors but also those at short pins of IFA elements. Finally, the validity of the equivalent weight and the antenna configuration is verified by comparison of the calculated directivity between the equivalent weight and the method-of-moments analysis.
