Proposal of Row Profile Slot Array Antennas Beam-Steerable In the Horizontal Plane and Its Basic Study

Abstract(in English) We propose a planar antenna that can steer a horizontally polarized beam in the horizontal plane when its planar plane is set horizontal. Slots span both side of a low profile cavity. Variable reactors are loaded to slots that are positioned on both side of a fed slot. Beam is steered by controlling the reactance values. By adjusting the offset value of the feeding point on the fed slot, the reactance range where impedance matching is achieved is designed to agree with the reactance range where directive gain is high. Also it is shown that the variable reactance range needed for beam steering can be decreased by offsetting the variable-reactor-loading point on parasitic slots,.
