Abstract(in English) | Ultra high-speed optical transmission technology, based on Optical Time-Division-Multiplexing (OTDM) format, is widely investigated due to its highly-potential to construct next-generation ultra high capacity photonic networks, In order to stabilize OTDM transmission performance, it is important not only to control carrier-phases properly, but also to equalize pulse peak powers of bit interleaved signals. In. this report, we propose an optical multiplexer installing liquid crystal devices which vary their birefringence depending on applied electrical field, for carrier phase control and channel power. And, we show some experimental result of 160Gb/s OTDM signal generation based on this scheme. |
