Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The optimization of a liquid crystal loaded meander line type microwave high-speed phase shifter using coplanar waveguide with floating electrode, we have developed, was examined. We studied what influence the changing of shape parameters gave rise time τ_r, decay time τ_d, the birefringence Δε', and transmission characteristics S_<21>. These shape parameters are coplanar waveguide's center conductor width W, the gap between center conductor and ground plane S, the width of ground plane placed between center conductors 1_d and the thickness of a liquid crystal layer d. As a result of examination, we obtained τ_r=30.3ms, τ_d=57.6ms and Δε'=0.218 in the case of W=50μm, S=100μm, 1_d=800μm and d=240μm.
