Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, ultra-wideband bandpass filters (UWB BPFs) have been extensively studied. However, most of previous designs of UWB BPFs are based on the designers' experiences and cut-and-try methods, and few papers described systematic synthesis methods of this type of filters. In this paper, based on the lumped-element circuit of a bandpass filter without using impedance or admittance inverters, a three-pole and a five-pole Chebyshev UWB bandpass filter are designed which have a midband frequency of 4.04GHz, a passband form 3.4 to 4.8GHz (FBW=34.7%), and a passband ripple of 0.01dB. Series and shunt resonators in the filters are both implemented by using microstrip structures. A method for extracting element parameters of the series and shunt resonators from their electromagnetic frequency responses is developed. The designed 3-pole and 5-pole UWB filters show favorable filtering characteristics.
