Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a novel optical electroabsorption modulator consisting of a distributed Bragg reflector waveguide, whose waveguide dispersion gives us slow a light effect. The modeling shows that the modulator length can be reduced below 50μm and its optical bandwidth limited by the waveguide dispersion is discussed. In addition, the optical coupling scheme for exciting slow light propagation is proposed for monolithic integration with VCSELs.
