Abstract(in English) In most researches for optical packet switching, optical labels were converted to electrical signals for label processing, and optical switches were controlled with electrical drivers. Therefore, the switching time was restricted to be more than 1ns. In order to overcome the limitation of the switching speed, we have proposed all-optical packet switching, in which an optical flip-flop memory worked as a label memory and an optical switch driver. This paper describes all-optical packet switching of 320-Gb/s multiple-wavelength packets using an MMI-BLD optical flip-flop. All-optical label buffering and forwarding allowed 338-ps switching time and 14-dB on-off ratio with transparency of data rate and format.
