Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated the characteristic of the higher resonant modes for the high-Q multistep heterostructure nanocavity using two dimensional photonic crystal slab. The resonant frequencies are explained using the Fabry Perot condition and the dispersion curve of the waveguide mode. The low frequency modes near the band edge have a high Q factor of about 10^6 and a polarization dependence different from FDTD calculation. On the other hand, the high frequency modes have a Q factor of at most 5x10^4 and the same polarization dependence as the calculation.
