| 抄録(和) | ALSなどの重度肢体不自由者の意志伝達装置として,スキャン法に基づくコミュニケーション装置が広く利用されている.本報告では,以前提案したスキャン法における自動誤り訂正アルゴリズムを改良し,ユーザのスイッチ操作タイミング特性を利用することで性能を大きく改善できることをシミュレーション実験を通して示す.また,健常者11名およびALS患者1名に,提案するコミュニケーション装置を用いて指定した文章を入力させる実験を行った.その結果,健常者では平均して誤りの半数以上を修正できた.また,ALS患者では誤り訂正をしなかった場合に77.7%であった文字正解率を,誤り訂正によって97.7%にまで向上させることができた. |
| 抄録(英) | The scanning input method is a widely used augmentative and alternative communication tool mainly for people with severe physical disabilities such as ALS. In this report, an enhancement for the automatic error correction method proposed earlier is described. A dramatical improvement to the accuracy is obtained by introducing a model for the switch timing distribution of users. A Monte Carlo simulation of text input shows the advantage of the new model. In addition, actual text input experiments were conducted using a scanning input system which implements the proposed automatic error correction method. As a result, it is shown that the system successfully corrected a large portion of errors for healthy subjects, and improved the character correct rate from 77.7% to 97.7% for an ALS patient. |
