Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The edge effect in the boundary of the object can be obtained in the phase contrast imaging (PCI), in which a small focal spot in an X-ray tube at a certain geometric condition (magnification radiography) is employed. On the other hand, the conventional contact digital imaging has a capability of image processing such as edge enhancement procedure. In this study, we investigated the difference in image quality between the edge enhanced contact digital images and the phase contrast images. As a result, we found that the effect of the edge enhancement can be achieved by performing the sharpening processing to the conventional digital image, but higher image quality in PCI was not obtained in the contact "processed" images.
