Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes techniques for advanced and flexible traffic control, which are applicable to large-scale networks, taking account of individual user environment and information. The techniques are employed in the lower layers than the network layer in customer-side equipment such as customer premises equipment and mobile terminals. The equipment operates other existing functionalities without any modification of their specifications in the upper layers. Furthermore, it also realizes feedback traffic control with the equipment at the other end, even unless it employs the proposed techniques, by making use of common existing feedback control mechanisms in the upper layers. We also describe major functionalities necessary to the equipment that controls traffic in a self-restraint manner.
