Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are developing a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) system using an Optical Electric Field Sensor (OEFS) as a receiver for humanitarian demining. For further improvement, developing antenna element attached on electrode of the OEFS was focused on. A dipole antenna has been used for antenna element before. In this study, we proposed to use a Vivaldi antenna as antenna element. First, we optimized the antenna element by using Method of Moment (MoM). We discovered optimal antenna element by making the Vivaldi antenna smaller. Next, we carried out a measurement for the evaluation of the small Vivaldi. From the result, we confirm better receiving characteristic and less disturbance to the E-field by small Vivaldi. Moreover, we confirmed good agreement between the result of MoM and measurement.
