Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Bit error rate (BER) performance of VDL-Mode2/3 expected as next generation's aeronautical communications system was investigated. Aeronautical wireless channel was classified into four area; Parking, Taxi, Arrival and En-Route, the parameter of each area was set, and the BER performance was simulated by computer so we got the required level at receiver input terminal in each area. Moreover, a wireless channel in transmission quality was evaluated based on the system parameter of VDL-Mode2/3 and the required level. It shows that the BER in each area is less than BER 10^<-3> required the transmission quality, therefore all area satisfy transmission specification for VDL-Mode2/3. When flying beyond line of sight, however, it becomes immediately outside coverage because of diffraction loss over a spherical earth, and it also sometimes happens to interrupt air-air channel due to large Doppler shift.
