Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NHK is studying a high efficient transmission method for next generation satellite broadcasting system. In the broadcasting field, there is an increasing demand for larger bit rate of the transmission channel to transmit better video and sound quality or high-speed download service. To transmit high volume signals in a limited bandwidth, multi level modulation is a useful technique, though it is vulnerable to the non-linearity of amplifiers. In this paper, we show the results of a 32QAM transmission experiment through a satellite simulator that has a non-linear property in its amplifier (TWT), and indicate the effect by the phase noise of a converter in a commercial ODU.
