Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) is automated, unmanned logistic transporter to the International Space Station (ISS) and approaches to the ISS with communicating Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS). Since the requirement of the high level safety to achieve a mission success of communication system, communication system to TDRS has an important role whenever HTV is in the vicinity to the ISS, such as to be captured and released. This paper describes the communication visibility analysis with multipath influence when HTV is adjacent to ISS structure. Visibility is strongly affected by blocking or multipath influence from larger ISS structure so that multipath rays are analyzed using the Uniform Geometrical Theory of Diffraction (UTD) with ISS structure model. Further, variation of communication level due to ISS structure is also analyzed in accordance with HTV and TDRS trajectory.
