THz Repetition-Rate Optical Clock Generation Based on Tunable Optical Spectrum Synthesizer

Abstract(in English) Recently, many high-speed optical clock generation technologies have been developed because of their potential abilities of many useful applications in different field of optical communication. However, tunabilities of repetition rate and center wavelength of optical clock have not been realized in these technologies. We propose a new optical clock generation technique with tunable repetition rate of terahertz order and center wavelength. Our proposal optical clock generator consists of an optical waveguide-type spectrum synthesizer using an attenuation and phase tunable cyclic arrayed waveguide grating and supercontinuum light generator. In this paper, we demonstrated optical clock generation with repetition rate of 1.28 and 2.56THz.
