Abstract(in English) | This paper describes automobile surveillance systems using image processing. Although the number of fatalities from traffic accidents tends to decrease thanks to historical regulation improvement, the number of people injured still increases. Automobile surveillance systems are expected to prevent traffic accidents. Image sensors are promising for various automobile applications because of its ability of wide area sensing. These applications are classified into car outside surveillance such as auto cruising systems and assessing collision risks and driver supports such as doze alarming and hands free interface using gesture recognition. In order to implement these applications, we have developed a low power consumption image processor LSI. Image processing algorithms and their applications are presented. |
