Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report clarifies the effects of haptic media synchronization control with prediction in a remote haptic calligraphy system. In the system, a teacher can instruct a student at a remote location how to use a brush for calligraphy while conveying the sense of force through a network. Under the control, network delay jitter is absorbed by buffering, and the positional information is output by prediction if the information is lost or arrives largely late.
