Abstract(in English) Recently, a quality management in IP networks becomes an important issue with the development of real-time applications, such as IP-phone, TV-meeting and video-streaming. Specifically, traffic measuring and monitoring techniques have gotten a lot of attention because packet loss caused by a network congestion has a negative impact on the application quality. Additionally, bursty traffic such as video-streaming is easy to cause the network congestion instantaneously. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor changes of the traffic load in real-time. This paper presents the analysis results for delay characteristics of the multiplexed video traffic, and we propose an estimation scheme for the video traffic load based on the delay characteristics with an active measurement.
