Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This article reports the study of an indoor guidance system that receives location information from the fluorescent lights. We demonstrate the relationship between the parameters (user's moving speed, data transmission speed, sensor's angle) in the system, and presented a series of formulae to represent the simulated conditions. Four angles (30°-90°) between the sensor and the horizontal direction were simulated. Three different sensor moving speeds (0.27m/s-0.81m/s) and four different data transmission speeds (1200bps-9600bps) were applied at all angles. A series of experiments which appear to validate the formulae were undertaken in the Information and Engineering Building in Niigata University, where we set up the fluorescent lights communication system and made a 30 meters path on two floors. The experimental results support the theoretical models.
