Abstract(in English) Let's aim that the binaural technology makes an advance into speech telecommunication with 3-D spatial sound reproduction through earphones by the use of head related transfer functions (HRTFs). For the externalized sound image localization by a listener, ear input signals of the listener in the original sound field play an important role. The role and representation of the ear input signals, and 3-D spatial sound reproduction by the binaural technology are summarized based on the acoustic equivalent circuits and system representation. The fast measurement method and apparatus of HRTF for the listeners are described because it has been developed to generate better externalized sound image localization and to lighten their burdens in measuring Further the underlying problems are discussed in the realization and control of the sound image distance needed for authentic reproduction, and problems for the talker sound recording to be used in generating the ear input signals to the listener.
