Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Subjective contours are imaginary contours that the vision system in the human brain generates to complete the lacked image information. We have already proposed a pixel-parallel anisotropic diffusion algorithm to generate subjective contours, which is suitable for VLSI implementation because it is based on the framework of cellular neural networks with nearest-neighbor connections. In this paper, we propose A CMOS pixei-paraliel anisotropic diffusion circuit based on a merged analog-digital circuit approach. We have performed HSIM simulation of 10×10-pixel circuits, and verified a diffusion process in the proposed circuit.
