Abstract(in English) | This paper presents a comparison of the achievable coverage for a shared data channel employing single-carrier (SC) based and multi-carrier (MC) based multiplexing of Layer 1 (L1)/Layer 2 (L2) control signaling in the SC-FDMA based Evolved UTRA uplink. Moreover, we clarify the effect of repetition over multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs) on the coverage extension of data-non-associated L1/L2 control signaling, which is transmitted from the exclusively assigned time-frequency recourse unit employing frequency hopping. Simulation results show that the user throughput at the average received signal-to-interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) of -10dB using SC-based multiplexing of L1/L2 control signaling is increased by approximately 60% (25%) compared to that of MC-based multiplexing due to the decreasing transmission back-off caused by a low cubic metric when the number of L1/L2 control signaling is 10 (1) bits. Furthermore, the results show that the cell radius to achieve the average bit error rate of 10^<-2> for data-non-associated control signaling such as ACK/NACK using repetition over multiple TTIs is increased by approximately 35% compared to that without repetition over multiple TTIs. |
