A Study of the LDPC Code for a Broadband Mobile System

Abstract(in English) Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) Codes have been widely considered as error-correcting codes for a broadband mobile system due to their good performance and a great potential decoding speed. The IEEE802.16e LDPC code is a set of codes for various block sizes and code rates together with a single hardware encoder/decoder that can encode/decode any of these codes. However it has no advantage over turbo code in the error performance. In the paper, we propose a new LDPC code, providing good error performance as well as easily hardware implementation. It is shown the comparison of the proposed codes and turbo code in error performance, memory size and throughput of decoder.
