Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to support a learner solving a question, it is necessary for a learning support system to capture the process in which he derives an answer of a given question, and to give hints if he has difficulties in the process. We are developing a learning support system for mathematics of junior high school, which has facilities to capture learner's solving process and to find causes of his difficulties in the process. In this paper, we describe the way how the system captures steps of solving quadratic equations, how it finds causes of erroneous answers and how it gives some hints, and also show experimental results.
