Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Adachi et.al pointed out security problems, including a customer certificate abuse attack, of the well-known micropayment scheme PayWord and constructed unimproved scheme solving them. In their improved PayWord, the customer certificate abuse attack is prevented by demanding an online credit check between shop and bank at the beginning of the transaction between customer and shop. Since the shop is not required to verify user's signature during the online credit check, we propose a new scheme with reduced operational cost by substituting MAC for a signature certifying a hash chain and by incorporating other mechanisms. Our analysis shows that the proposed scheme reduces the operational cost without degrading its security.
