Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is more useful to utilize parallel texts than use machine translators when foreigners seek medical care since a trivial mistake is sometimes critical in medical domain. However, it is difficult to manually collect a huge volume of multilingual parallel texts containing technical terms with only a few volunteers. In this research, we develop a web-based system that enables many volunteers to collaborate to collect more than 2,000 sentences multiplied by 20 languages efficiently. The system also achieves interoperability of existing parallel texts distributed on the web using web service composition. Furthermore, it provides voice-activated search function to support foreign patients.
