Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In analyzing WEB site structures, both of access patterns and page-staying times of users are very important factors. These two factors, however, are usually considered in a separate way in the analysis for WEB sites. It is clear to be very useful and productive of considering access patterns together with page-staying times in an integrated manner. Ordinary sequential data mining methods can extract access patterns form WEB logs, but can not find out page-staying time sequences. In this paper, we give a new fast data mining method, which can extract sequential patterns with time periods of each event occurring the pattern. We applied this new method for analyzing WEB access logs, and confirmed that this method can successfully find out some important patterns which helps us to rebuild the WEB site in a more user-friendly design.
