Preparations of Magnetoelectric Oxide Films of Superconducting Devices

Abstract(in English) Representative magnetoelectric (ME) Cr_2O_3 thin films were grown on R-cut sapphire and SrTiO_3(100) substrate in order to integrate with cuprate superconductors. The replacement of a base current of single flux quantum (SFQ) device is expected. Highly oriented Cr_2O_3 thin film grew on sapphire at 600℃ by off-axis DC-RF hybrid magnetron sputtering method with two-inches Cr metal target. The surface showed a step-terrace structure with surface roughness Ra of 0.80nm. Estimated induced magnetic field with electric field applied of 0.24MV/cm was 1.0 gauss around 50K.
