A Loop Antenna for UHF Tag

Abstract(in English) Generally UHF RFID antenna performance may be reduced by dielectric materials contained in the item to which the tag is attached. To minimize this performance reduction, we have developed a loop antenna, which can control the decrease of the read range. Using the loop antenna, we successfully developed an IC tag that has great permittivity(ε_r: 2.0 to 4.5) and a preferable read range even though the item includes dielectric materials such as metal (as long as the tag can keep distance of 2mm from the item).
