Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The flying S-CSMA/v-MCA system, which was developed for wide area broadband wireless access networks, is expected to solve the digital divide rapidly and inexpensively. The system has fundamentally solved the round trip time (RTT) waste problems in collision avoidance procedures, and has made it possible to operate over networks of any length. Measures of system performance, such as throughput and latency, have been evaluated by maintaining static traffic, in which the ratio of long and short MAC frames is fixed. Real-time services, such as VoIP and streaming video, have become increasingly popular. In order to respond to these service trends, a QoS control should be incorporated into the system. The traffic model should also be revised to correspond with the operational stability evaluation of the QoS control. For the traffic model, it is essential to develop a dynamic traffic change model, which reflects the recent use of Internet services. After modeling the frequency of service use and the traffic pattern for each service, based on actual traffic measurements conducted at the author's university campus, a computer simulation environment with a dynamic traffic change model has been constructed. |
