Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It has recently become clear the preparation and execution of a variety of motor actions can have an effect on three-dimensional perceptual precesses. These effects might be caused by the sorts of action-perception relationships engendered by active locomotion. It is not unclear, however, whether such an effect is used for the novel action-perception relationship by the visual system, and if used, how the effect caused. In the present study, we investigated the effect of a novel manual action on 3D interpretation for an ambiguous 2D optic flow field, and the formation of the effect. In the experiment, an ambiguous 2D optic flow were displayed with a textured background which gave perception of moving forward during button pressing. The state of the button (press or not press) during displaying the 2D optic flow and the presence of the background (present or absent) during displaying the flow was controled as the experimental condition. As a result, button pressing had become to have an effect on 3D interpretation even in the absence of the backgound as trials in each session proceed. On the other hand, the effect was not retained across sessions.
