Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Modern Bayesian statistics is treated as an art of generative modeling. Especially, development of methodology based on hierarchical models enables microscopic modeling of individual differences, spatial inhomogeneity and nonstationarity, which causes innovations in various different fields such as ecology, marketing and natural language processing. We also compare generative modeling with discriminative modeling, and discuss potential advantages of the generative one.
