Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper compared the initial and neighboring cell search time performances using hierarchical and non-hierarchical synchronization channel (SCH) structures in OFDM based Evolved UTRA downlink. In the hierarchical SCH, SCH timing is detected from the cross-correlation detection betwen the received signal and primary-SCH replica, which is common in all cells. Meanwhile, in the non-hierarchical SCH, SCH timing is detected from the auto-correlation detection of the repeated SCH signal waveform within one OFDM symbol duration. Simuation results elucidated that the cell seatch time at the 90% in the cumulative distribution using the hierarchical SCH becomes less than 130msec, which is less than half of the non-hierarchical SCH in the neighboring cell search where the average recieved signal power from the destination cell was 3-dB lower than that of the original cell.
