Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We evaluate the characteristics of a base station antenna in multipath environments using ray-trace method. The simulation results indicate that a free space radiation pattern in a horizontal plane is not in good preservation when the beamwidth is narrow, and the recessive characteristic of the pattern is worse when the height of the antenna is lower than that of the surrounding buildings. In case that there are some ripples in a horizontal pattern, the pattern preservation is not sufficient for any height of the antenna. Moreover, even if there is a null in a horizontal pattern, null fill effect is large with average height of the surrounding buildings being high.
