Co-polymers of 1,3-Cyclohexadiene with heat-resistance and transparency

Abstract(in English) We studied new co-polymer synthesis of 1,3-Cyclohexadiene (CHD) initiated by anionic polymerization and properties of hydrogenated co-polymers. In this time, we carried out random polymerization of CHD/α-methylstyrene and CHD/styrene, and then obtained those hydorogenated derivatives. In particular, hydrogenated CHD/styrene random co-polymer was able to mold by injection. Heat-resistance was excellent, and the discoloration by oxidation under high temperature was slower than that of ordinary cyclic-olefin polymers.
