Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, a design procedure of branch- and rat-race-type couplers with arbitrary resistive loads is described. The couplers shown here are constructed from transmission lines, T network and Π network with -90° and +90° transmission phase at center frequency. Here, usual Kirchhoffs law for circuit analysis is applied to give the matching and isolation condition, and so design equations suitable for arbitrary resistive loads are derived. The design parameters are comprised of four resistive loads, coupling coefficient and center frequency. This design procedure contains that of the conventional couplers with the same resistive loads and the past impedance-transforming couplers, therefore becomes a more general and effective expression.
