Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The class-F amplifier operation mode enables a high efficiency power performance even at microwave frequencies. However, its input/output linearity is not necessarily good as linear amplifier applications, because drain current and voltage waveforms are controlled by harmonic tuning. Therefore, it seems that practical utilization has not been succeeded well. In this report, we conduct a fundamental study on the feasibility of third order intermodulation distortions (IM3s) compensation of a class-F amplifier by using an analog predistortion technique without any deterioration of power efficiency. The constructed amplifier achieves a maximum efficiency of 64%. In addition, the distortion characteristics and compensated results are shown. As a result, both IM3s and efficiency are improved at the same time with the proposed construction.
