Abstract(in English) | Optical routers and optical Internet backbone with optical packet multiplexing is analyzed in detail to show that chromatic dispersion is not a serious problem; that high speed variable length routing table lookup of IP addresses is possible with two SRAMs commonly available today; and that header length to be treated by optical routers is about 80 bit long. Construction of the Internet backbone with optical packet multiplexing is practical with today's technology. |
