Abstract(in English) We utilized GIS (geographical information system) in the local disaster prevention of persons with disabilities and elderly persons. The GIS would enable to persons share the information, including t he special needs and knowledge of persons with disabilities and elderly persons would be reflected in the evacuation plan of disaster. Through the practice in Urakawa-cho, Hokkaido, Japan, we found that GIS is very effective in planning of local disaster prevention. It would give people specific knowledge for the planning.
