Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report addresses issues to be considered in building a distinctive expression system for JIS-Kanji characters. We first introduce the concept of distinctive expressions for Kanji characters. The concept makes clear the function of Shousaiyomi discussed by other researchers. We then describe a simple use model of distinctive expression system based on interrelations between three main system elements: a user; distinctive expressions for Kanji characters; and a use situation including such as purpose of the use, use context, and milieu of the system. We next show certain design issues of the system with the use of the simple use model introduced in this report.
