Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the use of network applications such as distance learning and video conferences, we have studied a "digital picture-card show system" of delivering digital images with narration voices to multiple clients using the world-wide web technology. In this system, web server proxies are dynamically set at selected client hosts to reduce the load of the web server, so as to afford the increasing number of clients with inexpensive PCs and network connections for the web server. In this paper, we propose a routing algorithm for this system to select client hosts for web proxies and to determine a connecting host to each client, such that the constraints of the system are satisfied and the maximum delay from the server to a client is minimized, under the various network environment.
