Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Crosstalk analysis techniques of two parallel microstrip lines of different width on PCB are studied. Two approaches are discussed to obtain a set of solutions of telegrapher's equations. To obtain the set, a modal analysis technique is applied to the equations for multi-conductor lines. In the technique, it is necessary to determine conversion matrices for independent modes. Here, two approaches are discussed; one is a way from predicted mode-excitation circuits of balanced- and unbalanced-mode circuits, and another from eigenvectors. Comparing the results computed by the both approaches and the measured results leads that the approach using eigenvectors is available not only for symmetrical lines but also for asymmetrical ones, but the approach from the predicted circuits is only for symmetrical line type. To know the asymmetry, current distributions in asymmetric lines of unbalanced-mode excitation are discussed from the post-processed experimental results and the computed results of the eigenvector approach.
