Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In our country, an aging society has come so that the number of people who suffer from hardness of hearing also tends to increase year by year. While it now reaches 6.5million including light or middle grade presbycusis, the number of hearing-aid users is around only seven percents of the whole population suffering from hardness-of-hearing. Most of the current or potential users still look unsatisfactory due to the insufficient operation of hearing aids which unnaturally sound, with the deteriorated quality, often encountering howling phenomena or annoying noise on a table. Additionally, authorized hearing aid products tend to be extremely expensive in comparison with glasses. Considering the coming ubiquitous network society, this paper proposes a novel scheme of high fidelity hearing aid system which is easy in handling and convenient also for old people, through the mutual connection of current disjointed hearing aids to the nation wide broadband networks via wireless local access, with both advanced acoustic and network technologies, so that they can positively participate in the society as well as younger people, and it describes the configurations of the system with the performance simulation results.
