Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Moving from a place to another in the real world is one of daily activities for us. Various route guidance systems to support our real movement have been developed. However, in their deformed route maps and route guidance sentences, a landmark is often identified by only its name, so we might not be able to check visually the next landmark where we should move from the current geographic location. To this problem, providing us with its visual description such as color, height, size and shape, is very effective. In this paper, we propose a method to extract a planimetric feature's appearance description from the Web, by utilizing heterogeneous search engines' metadata such as indexing data and each summary.
