Abstract(in English) High grade stenosis can limit blood flow and produce conditions in which the artery may collapse. The resultant compression may be important in the development of atherosclerotic plaque fracture and subsequent thrombosis or distal embolization. We have developed an experimental model that closely approximates the arterial disease situation, and blood analog fluid that closely approximates viscosity of human blood. We performed pulsatile flow experiments, and discussed the characteristics of flow and deformation of the model.
