Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, two novel three-pole microstrip bandpass filters (BPFs) with sharp attenuations and wide stopbands are developed through a combined use of composite resonators and stepped impedance resonators (SIRs). By using a full-wave electromagnetic simulator, the filters are designed with a midband frequency of 1.0GHz and a fractional bandwidth of 6%. The measured frequency responses of the filters agree well with the simulated results, and show a transmission zero at about 0.9GHz and 1.1GHz, respectively. The transition from the passband to the stopband is thereby sharp and deep. Moreover, up to approximately 3.11f_0 or 5.2f_0, the stopband attenuations of the two filters are larger than 20dB. In the design of the second BPF, the resonators and admittance inverters of the filter are miniaturized. As a result, the area occupied by the second filter is deduced to about one half that of the first filter.
